Job summary

Capital One in New York, NY seeks a visionary Product Designer, Design Systems to join the Premium Products and Travel Design team. You will own end-to-end component architecture, design tokens, and production-ready pipelines, collaborating with engineers inside the repo to ensure parity and scalable front-end updates.

You will shape AI-native guardrails, map data schemas to user flows, and lead a cross-functional pod to align with enterprise standards.

Qualifications

At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design, Systems Design, or Design Engineering role.
At least 5 years building and scaling multi-level design systems.

Responsibilities

End-to-End Component Ownership: Build, govern, and maintain scalable component libraries across design files and code repositories.
AI & Automated Interface Governance: Establish system logic, prompt criteria, and UX frameworks for AI-generated patterns.
Systems Thinking & Data Architecture: Map data schemas into user flows and design complex component interactions.
Cross-Functional Pod Leadership: Lead a design-focused pod and collaborate with engineers to align with enterprise standards.
Quality Assurance & Experience Metrics: Conduct heuristic evaluations and define UX metrics for system journeys.
Design Community Leadership & Practice Maturation: Mentor team members and drive governance for scalable design tooling.
