Job summary

Capital One in Richmond, VA is seeking a visionary Product Designer, Design Systems for Premium Products and Travel Design. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of component architecture—from tokenization in design tools to production-ready front-end code—and future-proof the design ecosystem.

You will lead a cross-functional pod, govern AI-enabled interfaces, and design robust data architectures that scale while maintaining craft across premium experiences.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years in Product Design, Systems Design, or Design Engineering.
• At least 5 years building and scaling multi-level design systems.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Component Ownership: Build, govern, and maintain scalable component libraries and token schemas.
• AI & Automated Interface Governance: Define system logic and guardrails for AI-generated patterns.
• Systems Thinking & Data Architecture: Map data schemas to cohesive user flows and interactions.
• Cross-Functional Pod Leadership: Lead a design-engineering pod aligning with enterprise standards.
• Quality Assurance & Experience Metrics: Establish UX metrics and evaluate live experiences.
