Job summary

Atlassian in San Francisco is seeking a Lead Product Designer for Jira to shape the future of work management. You will lead and mentor the Jira design team, drive strategic initiatives across Jira, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-enabled experiences that blend design craft with business impact.

You will work across Australia and North America, reporting to a Senior Design Manager, influencing end-to-end user journeys and advancing a cohesive design language across the Jira

Qualifications

• 7+ years of product design experience designing complex or enterprise-level software.
• High level of craft in visual design execution.
• Strong prototyping skills, with the ability to present clear options, configurations and trade-offs.
• Recent experience designing AI-native processes, workflows and agentic tooling.
• Experience in end-to-end UX and product design, crafting impactful solutions to challenging problems.
• Passion for storytelling, with the ability to bring design direction to life through a compelling narrative.
• Experience conducting and applying customer research, including design thinking, prototyping and conceptual modelling.
• Experience balancing customer needs with business goals, market viability and technical feasibility.
• Facilitation and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the demonstrated ability to integrate the work of multiple teams, solicit and synthesise feedback, and facilitate design discussions that lead to clear progress and outcomes.
• Experience measuring success through qualitative and quantitative methods.

Responsibilities

• As a Lead Product Designer, you will conceptualise and deliver industry-leading experiences. You’ll mentor our Jira design team, lead strategic initiatives, set cohesive vision, and manage interconnected projects so Jira feels designed by one hand.
• As a Product Designer At Atlassian, You'll lead and execute strategic work across Jira, Atlassian’s flagship product within the Teamwork Collection app suite.
