Job summary

Rocket, a Detroit-based company, is seeking a senior product designer to lead end-to-end design for top-of-funnel digital experiences. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing and other teams to translate insights into intuitive design solutions.

You will drive UX/UI, prototyping, and usability testing, using AI tools to accelerate iteration and elevate design quality. A strong portfolio demonstrating web/mobile design across platforms is required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product design.
  • Portfolio showing UX, interaction, and visual design across web and mobile.
  • Experience using AI in product design workflows, including ideation and rapid prototyping with Figma Make, Claude Code, Claude Desktop or similar.
  • Willingness to adopt new AI capabilities as they emerge.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, and responsive design.
  • Ability to translate complex problems into simple design solutions.
  • Experience with user research and usability testing in design iterations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration, ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for user-centered design.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver digital products.
  • Familiarity with front-end concepts and design system evolution.

About The Role
  • Lead end-to-end design for top of funnel customer-facing digital experiences, from discovery and ideation through UX/UI design, prototyping, validation, and implementation.
  • Own complex design initiatives that improve customer acquisition, engagement, and conversion while delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Use AI tools throughout the design lifecycle, from ideation to prototyping to accelerate iteration, broaden exploration, and elevate deliverable quality.
  • Ability to define and execute against a forward-looking product vision while elevating visual design quality.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Brand, Content, SEO, and other cross-functional partners to define strategy and create intuitive digital experiences.
  • Translate customer insights, business objectives, and data into thoughtful design solutions that solve real customer problems.
  • Develop user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to effectively communicate design concepts and drive alignment across teams.
  • Work with user researchers to conduct usability testing and leverage analytics and customer feedback to continuously improve experiences.
  • Design scalable experiences that leverage Rocket's design system while identifying opportunities to improve patterns and elevate design quality across products.
  • Partner with engineers throughout implementation to ensure designs are delivered with a high level of quality, accessibility, and craftsmanship.
  • Facilitate design critiques, workshops, and collaborative working sessions to foster a culture of feedback and continuously improve design quality.
  • Stay informed on emerging design trends, customer behaviors, and industry best practices to help maintain a competitive edge in usability, performance, and visual design.
  • Advocate for customer-centered design by balancing user needs, business goals, technical feasibility, and measurable outcomes.
  • Mentor designers by providing guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities for professional growth while promoting a collaborative and inclusive design culture.
About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product design.
  • Experience designing customer-facing digital products, with a portfolio demonstrating strong UX, interaction, and visual design across web and mobile platforms.
  • Openness, passion, and hands‑on experience leveraging AI within the product design workflow, including ideation, AI‑assisted design exploration, and rapid prototyping leveraging Figma Make, Claude Code, and Claude Desktop or similar tools.
  • Strong willingness to continuously adopt new AI capabilities as they emerge.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, information architecture, visual hierarchy, typography, and responsive design.
  • Ability to translate complex customer and business problems into simple, elegant solutions.
  • Experience conducting and incorporating user research and usability testing into design iterations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions, influence stakeholders, and advocate for user‑centered design.
  • Experience partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality digital products.
  • Familiarity with front‑end development concepts and implementation considerations.
  • Experience working within and evolving an established design system.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing marketing websites, landing pages, and top‑of‑funnel experiences.
  • A track record of experimenting with, evaluating, and championing new AI‑enabled design workflows within a team or organization.
  • Experience using analytics, experimentation, and A/B testing to optimize user experiences.Experience balancing brand expression with usability and business goals.
  • Knowledge of motion design or micro‑interactions that enhance user experiences.
  • Experience working in agile product development environments.
