We’re at the very beginning of an exciting journey—building the Instagram TV app from the ground up. As a Lead, Product Content Engineering, you’ll drive the content strategy for this new platform, building and leading a high‑performing team to shape the future of immersive, community‑driven TV experiences.

This role requires familiarity with short‑form video trends and best practices, and a creative, strategic, and data‑informed approach to content development at scale. You’ll partner with leadership across product, design, engineering, and insights to establish the content strategy roadmap and drive alignment on quality standards that serve our global community.

This role requires editorial judgment demonstrated through experience documenting decision logic into reusable frameworks, a proven track record of building and mentoring teams, and demonstrated ability to craft thorough, nuanced, and objective guidelines that establish and measure content quality at scale. They will be familiar with AI tools and platforms to accelerate product development and leverage strategic product thinking to put user needs at the forefront of our work.

If you have experience exploring emerging content formats, navigating ambiguous product spaces, have a track record of building teams from the ground up, and are energized by the opportunity to influence the next wave of digital storytelling, we encourage you to apply.

  • Build, lead, and mentor a team of content engineers, fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and professional growth
  • Partner with leadership across design, product, and engineering to ideate, prototype, and launch innovative content formats that resonate with diverse audiences, leveraging AI tools and solutions
  • Establish and scale processes, frameworks, and best practices that elevate content quality across the team and organization
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to inform content decisions, optimize user experiences, and communicate results to stakeholders
  • Build influence across teams, advocating for content quality and user‑centric design
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, identifying emerging opportunities and translating them into actionable recommendations for team strategy
  • Drive operational efficiency and reliability, ensuring the team delivers high‑quality editorial work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in digital content strategy, journalism, production, or relevant fields, with 3+ years in a people‑management capacity
  • Demonstrated expertise in short‑form video content and emerging video formats at scale
  • Proven track record of building, managing, and developing high‑performing teams
  • Experience setting strategic direction and navigating ambiguity in fast‑paced, zero‑to‑one environments

  • Proficiency in leveraging quantitative insights to inform content decisions and communicate impact to leadership audiences
  • Track record of building influence and driving alignment across cross‑functional partners
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading teams through product launches in ambiguous or zero‑to‑one environments
  • Experience partnering with product teams or programs from roadmapping through delivery at a strategic level
  • Familiarity with developing content strategy, establishing quality standards, and experiences on video platforms at scale
