Job summary

MDI Custom Injection Molding is seeking a Process Technician to develop, document, and optimize molding processes in a fast-paced production environment. You will troubleshoot equipment and processing issues to maintain quality, efficiency, and cost targets, while driving continuous improvement across shifts.

The role requires setting up presses and related equipment, mentoring operators, and collaborating with multiple departments to implement standardized, reliable manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with plastic injection molding processes and equipment setup/maintenance.
• Experience sampling new molds and troubleshooting to optimize quality and efficiency.
• Strong math, computer, and communication skills.
• Proven leadership and ability to train/mentor staff.
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Experience with Nylon 6 and Nylon 66 materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document and implement standard molding processes.
• Troubleshoot equipment and processing problems impacting product quality or efficiency.
• Recommend and improve manufacturing processes for cost reduction and quality gains.
• Coordinate communications across shifts and departments.
• Set up presses, equipment, and work area per daily production schedules.
• Train, mentor, and motivate production staff to excel in their roles.
