Job summary

Solstice Advanced Materials in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Lead R&D Engineer/Scientist to lead process development and scale-up for new product commercialization and productivity improvements.

You will design and supervise bench-to-pilot scale operations, apply chemical engineering principles, collaborate across R&D and manufacturing, and drive safety and quality while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of experience in R&D, process engineering, or process development.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity in various unit operations including reactions, distillations, filtrations, and handling of highly hazardous materials.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with process equipment (pumps, agitators, instrumentation, utilities).
• Perform & lead full range of process development work requiring expertise in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
• Coordinate R&D functions, design and construction of process development scale equipment, supervision, analytical requirements, and data reporting.
• Develop manufacturing technologies and potentially patent portfolios.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear PPE as required.
