Job summary

The Bergaila Companies is seeking a Lead Process Optimization Engineer: V for our Sabine Pass LNG facility in Sabine Pass, TX. You will lead optimization initiatives, address operational vulnerabilities, and support reliability across plant operations onsite.

Responsibilities include leading troubleshooting, monitoring performance, driving root cause investigations, and coordinating with operations, maintenance, and external engineering teams to deliver safe, efficient improvements.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in LNG, upstream, gas processing, refining, or petrochemical environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, process safety, and plant optimization skills.
• Proficiency with process simulation tools and performance monitoring systems.
• Proven ability to translate operational challenges into sustainable reliability enhancements.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts related to process reliability and production hurdles
• Monitor plant performance, identify vulnerabilities, and spearhead corrective actions
• Support and drive root cause investigations, ensuring lessons learned translate into actionable solutions
• Conduct process studies, simulations, and optimization projects to enhance efficiency and safety
• Play a key role in Management of Change (MOC), PSSR, and safety activities
• Develop technical recommendations to improve reliability, operability, and capacity
• Support stabilization and startup activities, ensuring smooth, safe operations during transitions
• Collaborate closely with operations, maintenance, process controls, and external engineering teams

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
• Extensive hands-on onsite operations experience, particularly in high-level process environments

Other Requirements

• Onsite presence at Sabine Pass, TX; local or non-local candidates considered
• Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements
• Certification in process safety or related areas is a plus
