Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Process Mechanical Superintendent to lead field execution of complex process mechanical work on large water and industrial projects.

You will oversee self-perform crews, coordinate with owners and inspectors, and drive safety, quality, and productivity on site. You will interpret drawings, manage schedules and budgets, and support the shop drawing process while solving field issues in real time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of experience in highly complex water or industrial construction projects.
• Process mechanical experience required.
• Self-perform experience is strongly desired.
• Ability to work in a large team environment with a problem-solving, project-first mentality.
• Geographically mobile and able to relocate within a region is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementation of project-specific safety and accident prevention programs and maintain safe work areas through regular job-site inspections.
• Lead McCarthy’s Task Hazard Analysis (THA) process and implement all safety and EEO/Affirmative Action programs.
• Maintain thorough understanding of project schedule and budget, enforcing plans and motivating employees to follow through.
• Assist project superintendent in locating/onboarding manpower, developing/implementing project plans and maintaining current contract documents.
• Schedule and manage multiple crews performing various tasks across the project site.
• Allocate resources, plan activities, review work and manage consumables/equipment, including compiling a comprehensive bill of materials and coordinating deliveries.
• Comprehend contract drawings/specifications and communicate with owners, inspectors and other trades.
• Create isometric drawings and assist project engineers in the shop drawing/submittal process.
