Job summary

Melaleuca Inc. in Idaho Falls, ID is seeking a Principal Process Engineer to lead scale-up, technology transfer and development of vitamins and supplements. You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality and R&D to deliver robust processes and compliant transfers.

Required: BS in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in supplement formulation and manufacturing (MS with 7+ years accepted). Expertise in Quality by Design and Process Control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in supplement formulation, process development, and scale-up.
• Master’s degree in chemical engineering with 7+ years in supplement formulation, process development and scale-up.
• Other science degrees with plant and process development experience may be considered.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Quality by Design, Process Control Strategies and Good Engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver robust processes, scale-up and technology transfer of formulations to Manufacturing.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to scale up products and optimize processing steps.
• Establish blend sizes, protocols, and testing requirements for scale up.
• Provide technical support for capsules, tablets and powders during development and transfer.
• Perform data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending for process control.
• Lead change management for process changes and new processes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and best practices.
• R&D GMP training and management; implement GMP for dietary supplements and related products.
• Travel to suppliers and work with external co-manufacturers for scale-up and development.
• Document plant trials and maintain data records for formulations and ingredients.
