Job summary

Brindley Engineering in Lisle, IL is seeking a detail-oriented process engineer to lead and assist in design for refinery, chemical and other industrial facilities. Analyze, calculate, and design new or revamped process equipment for safe, efficient operation.

You will prepare PFDs and P&IDs, develop equipment specifications, and support field execution including outages and turnarounds. Minimum qualifications include a BS in Chemical Engineering and 8+ years of experience; P.E. preferred.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering
Experience: Minimum 8+ years
Licensure: P.E. Preferred
Technical Skills: P&ID development, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes; process simulation software preferred
Management: Experience mentoring and leading small teams
Other Skills: Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Lead field and technical evaluations of existing process units
Develop PFDs and P&IDs, provide design documentation for downstream engineering
Lead Client and Contractor interface, attend meetings, and provide written reports
Provide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects
Assist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development
