Job summary

Wood PLC in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to join our Salt Lake City office. You will lead process design activities for sulfur recovery technology and related projects, including PFDs, P&IDs, and mass/energy balances, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, strong communication, and US work authorization. Travel may be required as projects span multiple sites.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering.
5–7 years of process design experience in refinery or chemical units.
Knowledge of sulfur-related technologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Lead process design activities for Wood's sulfur recovery technology and related projects.
Lead the development of PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, equipment lists.
Generate instrument data, relief loads, and SV data; perform hydraulic calculations.
Participate in safety reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, What-If) and client meetings.
Provide guidance to related disciplines and optimize process systems.
