Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Wilsonville, OR seeks a Build and Test Supervisor to lead a skilled team supporting critical Naval missions. Responsibilities include on-time delivery, manufacturing uptime, and continuous improvement across assembly, tooling, and test processes.

The role reports to the Director of Manufacturing and requires strong cross‑functional leadership, Lean methods, and hands‑on testing expertise in a high‑reliability environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering on an established product and NPI of system-level products.
• Strong knowledge of build and test activities for large production.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating multiple groups.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or equivalent.
• Lean/Six Sigma tools (SPC/DOE) preferred.
• Hands-on experience with assembly, ATP, and ESS tasks.
• Proficient with Jira, Confluence, SolidWorks, CAD, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Office 365.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily standups and coordinate team priorities to ensure on-time, quality delivery.
• Maintain preventative maintenance and support production systems to improve throughput.
• Develop tooling and provide technician support to resolve line-down events.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to improve test metrics and methods.
• Document processes and drive continuous improvement, cost reduction, and kaizen events.
• Coordinate DFMEAs/PFMEAs for New Product Development and launches.
• Provide weekly status reports on line progress, maintenance, and safety.
