Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Principal Process Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, to lead manufacturing feasibility and process development for next‑generation implantable devices at the Rice Creek facility in Fridley, MN. This role partners with R&D, contract manufacturers, and tooling vendors to scale prototype processes to production.

You will own process maturation, DOE planning, and manufacturing readiness while mentoring engineers and aligning with global manufacturing strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, or Master's with 5+ years, or PhD with 3+ years.
• Expertise in micro-insert molding, mold tool design, and process optimization.
• Experience designing and executing DOE to establish process capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility assessments and develop fabrication methods for implantable assemblies.
• Drive rapid prototyping, evaluate manufacturability and design tradeoffs.
• Provide leadership in molding, tooling, and precision assembly technologies.
• Apply DFM/DFA during product development and establish DOE strategies.
• Collaborate with sites, CM's, tooling vendors, and automation suppliers.
• Mentor engineers and influence cross-functional decisions.
