Job summary

Sora Fuel is developing a First-of-a-Kind Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) pilot plant in collaboration with DAC, electrolyzer, FT synthesis, and refining steps. The Principal Process Engineer will own the Balance of Plant engineering and integrate upstream DAC and water/CO2 electrolyzer with downstream FT synthesis, while ensuring safety, process intensification, and scale-up to pilot deployment.

With a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and 15+ years in process engineering, you will lead FEED,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering required; Ph.D. preferred.
• 15+ years process engineering experience in oil & gas, petrochemicals, refining, or industrial syngas/hydrogen production.
• Proven track record of taking complex chemical processes from pilot to First-of-a-Kind commercial facility.

Responsibilities

• Lead FEED and detailed engineering for SAF facility Balance of Plant.
• Design and optimize auxiliary systems (water treatment, utility gas, product storage).
• Develop and approve critical engineering documents (PFDs, P&IDs, heat/mass balances, control narratives).
• Drive thermal integration optimization to maximize energy efficiency across DAC, electrolysis, and FT synthesis loops.
