Job summary

HF Sinclair seeks a Supervisor, Process Area Specialist in Artesia, NM to lead area-specific Process Engineering and Refinery Technical Services, driving efficient operations and providing technical guidance across refinery units.

You will oversee engineers, coordinate unit startup activities, monitor performance, and provide ROI-focused analyses for capital upgrades while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
• Minimum three years of refinery engineering experience.
• Ability to lead and direct a team of engineers.
• Working knowledge of engineering concepts and analytical application.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software.
• Strong reading, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate priorities and report progress to the Department Manager.
• Maintain detailed records of process scope and engineering work for the area team.
• Organize technical service support based on unit monitoring results and requests.
• Supervise Process Engineering to monitor unit performance and provide area support.
• Provide startup support and review daily unit reports, track performance.
• Oversee catalyst and chemical performance and usage; guide startup/usage.
• Ensure process scope development meets safety and compliance criteria.
• Complete scope development within target schedule and support project startup.
• Meet all Process Safety Management requirements for As Built projects.
• Supervise area team of process engineers and vendor relationships.
• Coordinate refinery energy conservation efforts.
