Job summary

The St. Louis City Public Administrator’s Office seeks to hire an Attorney and Chief Deputy Public Administrator.

The successful candidate will represent the office in Probate Division matters and help oversee operations of the Public Administrator’s Office, stepping in during the Public Administrator’s absence. Requirements include a J.D., Missouri Bar membership, five years in probate and general litigation, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Member of the Missouri Bar Association.
• Five years of experience in probate and general litigation.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• EOE.

Responsibilities

• Represents the office and appears at hearings for appointment of Public Administrator.
• Handles real estate litigation and sales, notices, liability actions involving former fiduciaries, and title determinations.
• Supervises estate administration from appointment to inventory, settlements, and final distribution.
• Assists Guardianship Team with decisions on medical/mental health treatment and related matters for 550+ wards.
• Provides coverage in the Public Administrator’s absence.
