Job summary

Sourcebooks is seeking a Purchasing Manager for Children's, Callisto, and Custom Publishing. You will lead the end-to-end print buying and manufacturing process for a dynamic portfolio of books and custom projects, balancing cost, quality, and speed to market.

You will manage forecasting, vendor sourcing, bidding, and press scheduling while developing a high-performing team and collaborating across departments to deliver efficient and innovative publishing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in print purchasing, print buying, or manufacturing within publishing or consumer products.
• 2+ years supervising, training, or coaching a purchasing or production team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end print buying and manufacturing for Children's, Callisto, and Custom Publishing.
• Oversee forecasting, vendor sourcing, bidding, press scheduling, print quantities, and on-time delivery while balancing cost, quality, and speed to market.
• Develop and coach a team of print buyers, set priorities, remove obstacles, and build cross-training opportunities.
• Collaborate with Data, Inventory, Fulfillment, Sales, Editorial, Design, and Production to drive process improvements and reporting.
