Job summary

IDE group seeks a Principal Human Factors Engineer to lead user research and HFE activities, shaping strategy and coordinating a global team across locations in the U.S., Australia, and the Netherlands. You will ensure that ventures balance quality, time, and budget while delivering meaningful MedTech products.

You will guide ethnographic research, usability testing, risk management, and stakeholder engagement, driving design decisions and mentorship for a growing HFE team.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of relevant human factors/usability engineering experience.
• Experience leading Human Factors activities across the product lifecycle.
• Applied knowledge of human factors principles and techniques to hardware/software products.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and provide technical leadership.
• Familiarity with IEC 62366-1, ISO 14971, and ISO 60601 or equivalent standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate HFE activities and team efforts.
• Plan and execute user research, ethnographic studies, and requirements translation.
• Conduct usability formative and summative testing; inform design decisions.
• Develop and manage risk, workflow, and task analyses for products.
• Mentor and coach team members and engage with clients professionally.
