NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP in New York seeks a Principal Engineer - Distribution Planning to lead complex planning, studies and capital projects. The role focuses on reliability, DER integration and system enhancements, with leadership responsibilities across AVANGRID teams.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years in distribution planning, and a PE license is preferred. On-site work in NY with extensive regulatory interaction and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• PE License preferred.
• Deep knowledge of distribution planning, reliability engineering and DER.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities for engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead distribution planning studies including thermal loading, N-1 analysis and DER interconnections.
• Develop and maintain a 10-year capital projects plan for the assigned area.
• Mentor engineers and lead cross-OPCO initiatives across AVANGRID.
• Present findings to regulatory and public entities.
