Job summary

Sci.bio Recruiting presents an opening for Clinical Veterinarian to lead the clinical evaluation and comprehensive veterinary care program for research-bred non-human primates in South Carolina. You will oversee daily veterinary hospital operations and supervise technicians, conducting health assessments and optimizing colony health.

The role includes emergency coverage, collaboration with researchers and animal care teams, and involvement with protocols and safety programs.

Qualifications

  • DVM/VMD from an AVMA-accredited college is required.
  • Current state licensure in at least one state and obtain licensure in SC within 60 days of hire.
  • ACLMAM eligibility or diplomate status is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage overall colony health programs, including ongoing health monitoring and disease surveillance.
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical care to colony primates, including examinations, medical treatment, surgical procedures, and post-treatment follow-up.
  • Advise investigators, research personnel, and veterinary staff on animal care practices and peri-procedural support.
  • Evaluate animal care and use protocols and contribute to IACUC activities.
  • Provide emergency medical services and participate in weekend on-call coverage.
  • Document and maintain records of clinical activities and treatments.
  • Conduct semiannual physical examinations for colony animals.
  • Collaborate with Managers and Directors to address colony requirements.
