Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in media relations or public affairs.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media.
  • Prepare press releases, talking points, and media kits.
  • Serve as the day-to-day media contact for the city.
  • Coordinate press conferences and media events with leadership.
  • Assist in crisis communications and rapid response.
