Job summary

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in media relations, excellent writing skills, and the ability to work under pressure and coordinate across agencies. Overnight/on-call availability may be required, especially during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in media relations or public relations, especially in government or campaigns.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of print, TV, and digital media logistics.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets.
• Prepare press releases, briefings, and talking points; handle press inquiries.
• Coordinate press conferences with Mayor Scott and senior officials; arrange media appearances.
• Monitor media coverage and provide daily reports to leadership; support rapid-response efforts.
