Job summary

Ivy Kids in Texas is seeking a Lead Preschool Teacher to plan and implement daily curriculum, create a safe and nurturing environment, and oversee the assistant teacher. You will manage personal care, learning activities, and developmental checklists, modeling Conscious Discipline throughout the classroom.

You will maintain classroom records, coordinate ASQs, and communicate with families via the parent app while ensuring licensing standards and safety procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
• Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with children and parents.
• The lead teacher must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.

Responsibilities

• Plans and implements the Ivy Kids curriculum activities.
• Keeps accurate and current records of each child’s developmental milestones, student accidents, anecdotal records, and attendance.
• Ensure ASQs are conducted on time.
• Has knowledge of state standards and the ability to follow Ivy Kids Critical Procedures.
• Provides daily communication to parents via the parent app.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Assists in training new staff and familiarizing them with program practices, forms, and schedules.
• Observes, records, and reports to the director any significant behavior of children or staff that could adversely affect the quality of care provided
• Understands and implements all Critical procedures and infant care procedures.
• Implements appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency
• Administers CPR/First aid if needed
• Properly maintains educational materials and equipment
• Ensures all sanitization procedures are followed as regulated by childcare licensing
• Keeps the classroom and other play areas safe, neat, and clean.
