Job summary

The Town of Brookline seeks a full-time Lead Preschool Teacher for the Soule Center in Brookline. You will develop relationships with families, collaborate with colleagues, and participate in ongoing professional development to support 2.9–5 year olds.

Responsibilities include leading curriculum, maintaining safe classrooms, conducting assessments, and guiding staff. The position requires EEC lead teacher qualification and credentialing, with generous benefits and excellent working conditions.

Qualifications

• EEC lead teacher qualification.
• Two years experience as an early childhood teacher or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree in child development or related field.
• CPR and First Aid required.
• Strong understanding of EEC licensing regulations and best practices.
• Proficient with basic computer applications used for documentation and communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom environments, materials, and equipment.
• Lead curriculum development and daily activities; ensure safety and well‑being of children.
• Support children’s classroom adjustment and positive peer relationships.
• Promote positive discipline aligned with EEC standards and center policies.
• Supervise toileting, diapering routines, and attendance records.
• Conduct developmental observations and collaborate with specialists as needed.
• Lead parent conferences and maintain child portfolios.
