Qualifications

• Degree in education, with a focus on early childhood development.
• Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
• Excellent understanding of child development principles and preschool educational methods.
• Ability to communicate effectively with young children.
• Familiarity with classroom safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Ability to lift and carry infants, toddlers, toy tubs, and laundry bags (physical demands required).
• Knowledge of NAEYC Accreditation Standards and Code of Ethics.
• Knowledge of STARS policies and procedures, including meal preparation and service.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, sit on the floor for extended periods, and perform cleaning tasks.
• Meet licensing immunization requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement curriculum.
• Inspect classroom and outdoor environment daily for safety and sanitation.
• Supervise and care for children; supervise teacher aides.
• Follow Growing Roots Early Learning Center policies and procedures.
• Create lesson plans based on observations and assessments.
• Support inclusion of children of all abilities.
• Engage children in meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Communicate with parents/guardians daily.
• Conduct parent/teacher conferences annually.
• Assist with family events and fundraising; share information with families.
• Maintain professionalism and participate in ongoing training.
