Job summary

The Y Preschool Teacher plans, manages and supervises an early childhood classroom, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions, while aligning with state standards and the Y’s approach.

You will ensure children’s health, welfare and safety, and foster social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative development. You’ll work with colleagues to prepare young participants for success in school and life.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of early childhood experience.
• A high school degree or GED.
• 90 hour child care certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions.
• Lead the classroom and support associates, while ensuring adherence to state standards and the Y's philosophy.
• Ensure health, welfare and safety of children in our program, fostering development across social, emotional, physical, cognitive and creative domains.
• Contribute to preparing young participants for school and life in collaboration with the Y community.
