Qualifications

• Must meet Colorado rules for Early Childhood Teacher Assistant.
• Ability to relate positively with young children.
• Previous teaching or classroom experience preferred.
• Certification or degree related to early childhood desirable but not mandatory.
• Knowledge from parenting or experience of social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Background checks required (federal/state/criminal).

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily class functions for a group of children.
• Assess each child’s developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Submit timely lesson plans and implement the STMP curriculum and daily schedule.
• Plan with the director for parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.
• Provide an attractive, well-kept classroom encouraging creativity and exploration.
• Ensure bulletin boards are current and inform families of material taught.
• Provide verbal praise and maintain clear expectations for behavior.
• Help with classroom maintenance, housekeeping, and playground duties.
• Assist with snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities.
• Follow STMP policies and procedures; maintain professional attitude.
• Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
• Observe health, safety, and regulatory rules for children.
• Maintain professional personal appearance.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director.
• Follow the schedule set by the Director.
