First ARP Preschool is seeking a lead teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.

The mission for First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Preschool is to demonstrate God’s love in Christ by nurturing each child intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally in a safe environment. We believe that the church has an important role to play in the education of young children. The influence of a church environment and Christian teachers can have a great impact on young minds. Brief Overview of Job:
- Job Type: Part-time
- Beginning Salary: $14/hour
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Hours: 8:30am-12:45/1:00 pm
- Teacher contract is for one school year (August through May)
Job Description— Lead Teacher Qualifications
- Must have reached the legal age of twenty-one.
- Must be a committed Christian.
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in education or similar field preferred.
- Preferred to have a minimum of 3 years experience in preschool education (as shown by a positive reference from a former employer supervisor in the preschool education field)
- Skill in interpersonal relations with children, parents, teachers/staff
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Must hold and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications (training provided by the church) and be able to lift and carry 35 pounds.
- A background check is required.
- Outstanding references from current and former supervisors
Responsibilities
- Report to the Preschool Director.
- Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
- Implement our church faith-based curriculum and help all children develop physically, cognitively, emotionally, socially and spiritually with class assistant teacher
- Plan developmentally appropriate activities to highlight themes and lessons
- Ensure regular observation of children throughout the year as well as complete student assessments
- Decorate the room including bulletin boards
- Carry out all safety drills and explain those procedures to students.
- Attend staff meetings and Professional Development
- Communicate with parents throughout the school year.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and coworkers
- Submit supply orders to Director
- Assisting with changing diapers, potty training, and taking children to the restroom
- Attend weekly chapel, music, and storytime with students
- Agree to follow policies and procedures outlined in First ARP Preschool Teacher Handbook
