School year (2024-2025) Lead Instructor needed to facilitate Play to Grow Preschool, a play-based preschool program, at Lyndale Farmstead Park. This position is responsible for developing and administering high-quality early childhood programming to children ages 3 to 5 years, while cultivating responsive and robust relationships with children, parents, and caregivers in a professional manner.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Develop, plan, and implement programming appropriate for early childhood development, while consistently engaged in social, environmental, and targeted learning targets designed to lift up all students.
- Nurture young children as they navigate behavioral differences in a social environment.
- Work with families and caregivers to address specific needs while fostering relationships.
- Create a healthy and fun environment that fosters childhood development and promotes kindergarten readiness.
- Work with MPRB staff, including weekly visiting naturalist, to coordinate and produce quality educational experiences for students.
- Ensure access to large motor and fine motor development by developing classroom and playground experiences.
- Maintain classroom environment and monitor supply requirements.
- Prepare and deliver small snacks daily.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must pass background check.
- Must be able to lift up to a max of 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children (3-5yrs) in a learning and teaching environment.
- Knowledge of early childhood development derived from extensive experience, or post-secondary early childhood education, child development, recreation, or a closely related field.
- Experience working in environments that fostered a love of nature, play, science, art, and community with children from diverse populations and behavioral difference backgrounds.

$20-$24
Hours
The instructor role operates from 8:30am to 2:00pm Monday-Friday. Hours of programming: 9:00 am to 12:00pm/ Lunch Bunch Option 12:00pm to 1:30 pm. School year 2023 – 2024 (no program on MPS school release days).
