Essential Functions:

1. Manage classroom ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
2. Create a welcoming environment for children, parents, and visitors.
3. Maintain attractive displays and an up-to-date Parent Board.
4. Develop and implement age-appropriate, stimulating lesson plans aligned with weekly themes and curriculum.
5. Supervise children during activities and use positive discipline techniques.
6. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the classroom environment.
7. Complete all classroom paperwork accurately.
8. Support and guide assistant teachers to ensure smooth classroom operation.
9. Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
10. Identify and resolve classroom and school issues collaboratively.

Physical Demands: Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds).

Education/Experience: 90 clock hours in Child Development and Curriculum Planning plus 1 year of preschool classroom experience; or 1 year of college (30 semester hours) or a combination. 9 clock hours of communication training required. Preferred: AA/BA in early childhood education or related field, Maryland State Credential Level 5.
