Job description

The Growing Years of Greensboro is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teachers to support the following age groups :

To be QUALIFIED for the Lead Teacher role, we require a high school diploma and the ability to pass all background checks. College coursework in early childhood education is strongly preferred. A completion of early childhood education credentials is required. A plus if you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift : Monday - Friday, 9 : 00am - 6 : 00pm

Compensation : $16-$18 per hour, based on relevant education and experience,

Our Hiring Process for Lead Toddler Teachers :

  • Resume screen
  • Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes)
  • On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes)
  • Classroom observation
  • Offer

Main Job Responsibilities for Lead Toddler Teachers :

  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans / curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule / daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent / teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
