Celebree Schools is hiring to plan and direct operations of an assigned classroom, ensuring our mission, vision and values are upheld and children have a developmentally appropriate learning environment. You will provide support and direction to the classroom aide.

The role requires knowledge of behavioral and developmental stages, ability to manage a compliant classroom, strong organizational and communication skills, patience and flexibility, and at least 2 years in licensed childcare.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge of behavioral and developmental stages of children and childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to manage a classroom with strong organizational and communication skills.
• Patience and flexibility; able to perform essential functions satisfactorily.
• At least 2 years of licensed childcare experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old; HS diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage classroom ensuring compliance with childcare regulations and policies.
• Provide a welcoming, friendly classroom environment for children, parents and visitors.
• Maintain displays and a Parent Board updated regularly.
• Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with Celebree curriculum.
• Assist and supervise children during activities; use positive discipline techniques.
• Ensure cleanliness and safety of the classroom.
• Complete paperwork and attendance records.
• Attend team meetings, trainings and events.
• Support and supervise Aides to keep the classroom orderly.

Position Summary:

Qualifications:

This position requires comprehensive knowledge and understanding of behavioral and developmental stages of children and knowledge of Childcare licensing requirements; ability to manage a classroom, including strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills. patience, flexibility. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

Essential Functions:

• Manages classroom ensuring compliance with all Office of Child Care regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.
• Provides a welcoming and friendly classroom environment for all children, parents and visitors.
• Maintains attractive and current classroom/hallway displays and an educational and informative Parent Board that is updated regularly.
• Creates and implements thorough, timely lesson plans that are age appropriate and stimulating in accordance with Celebree’s curriculum;
• Manages effective classroom transitions.
• Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using positive and appropriate discipline techniques.
• Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safe environment of classroom is appropriately maintained.
• Accurately completes all paperwork, electronic reports, supervision records and attendance.
• Attends all team meetings, trainings and School events as requested; limits unscheduled absences.
• Provides support and direction to Aides to ensure the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
• Provides development, coaching and training to support Aide development.
• Presents a positive and professional image at all times adhering to uniform requirements.
• Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on their child’s development and classroom happenings.
• Maintains open and effective communication with Management.
• Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the classroom and School and works with coworkers and management to resolve.
• Maintains all mandatory certification requirements.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding families, co-workers and self.

Requirements

Physical Demands:

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The job requires frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, lifting and carrying; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Education/Experience:

• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Have a high school diploma or equivalent; or
• High school certificate of coursework completion as defined in Texas Education Code, §28.025(d)
• At least 2 years of experience in licensed childcare required
