Job summary

Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Head Start centers are seeking an experienced supervisor to lead Early Childhood classrooms and ensure adherence to Head Start Performance Standards. The role includes overseeing day-to-day operations, staff coaching, and aligning programming with Ojibwe culture and language goals.

The position requires supervisory experience, a degree in early childhood education, a valid Minnesota driver’s license, and compliance with licensing and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Past two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working with pre-school children preferred.
• Valid MN driver’s license required; CPR and First Aid certification or attainable within introductory period.
• Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
• Native American Preference.

Responsibilities

• Supervise HS/EHS classroom staff to ensure compliance with Head Start standards and Leech Lake policies.
• Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing classroom environment and ensure attendance targets.
• Provide coaching and support to teaching teams toward quality programming.
• Prepare weekly lesson plans and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate Family Support, CACFP compliance, and parent involvement.
• Attend mandated trainings and implement Head Start outcomes.
