Job summary

Plum Market in Michigan is seeking a Prepared Produce Manager to oversee daily operations in the Prepared Produce section, including cut fruit, packaged produce, and juiced items. Lead the team to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining fresh displays and safe food handling.

This hands-on leadership role requires coaching Team Members, meeting margin and labor targets, and collaborating with Store Leadership to drive growth.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team in a retail or food production setting.
• Strong knowledge of produce handling, rotation, food safety, and merchandising.
• Ability to meet departmental margin, labor, and shrink targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
• Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and push/pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and coach Team Members in daily production, rotation, packaging, and merchandising of all Prepared Produce items.
• Ensure full, fresh, and appealing displays that meet Plum Market quality and presentation standards.
• Execute daily par levels, manage prep guides, and ensure consistent product availability.
• Monitor product rotation and labeling to maintain food safety and freshness standards.
• Maintain proper use of cut gloves, knife safety, and adherence to sanitation protocols.
• Collaborate with the Produce Team Leader on ordering, inventory control, and scheduling.
• Support Team Members in delivering knowledgeable, friendly service to all Guests.
• Communicate effectively with Team Members, Store Leadership, and the Director Group.
• Uphold all Plum Market policies, food safety procedures, and standard operating practices.
