Job summary

MPI is seeking a Preconstruction Manager / Estimator in Auburn, Alabama to help establish budgets, estimate assemblies, source trade partners, and manage a busy preconstruction process. You will work with the Director of Preconstruction and the Project Management team on bid deliverables and schedules.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Construction Management, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency with Excel, project software, and takeoff tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional construction management experience.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/consultant drawings for takeoffs.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Experience coordinating with design disciplines and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Guide projects through preconstruction and assist with material/subcontract acquisition.
• Collaborate with Director of Preconstruction and Director of Procurement.
• Gather and post Bid Documents and review for scope of work per trade.
• Identify potential subcontractors and maintain vendor lists.
• Develop material and labor quantity takeoffs for work performed.
• Prepare estimate summaries for bids and analyze PSC proposals.
• Develop preliminary project schedules and ensure bid information accuracy.
• Coordinate with management to ensure proper scopes and value.
• Lead bids toward best-value decisions and project buyout.
