Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking an experienced Metal Former/Machine Operator to join our Maritime Manufacturing team. You will fabricate high-quality parts in a cutting-edge production system and build assemblies to support the production floor, working hands-on with engineering on a multi-disciplinary workflow.

This role requires 8+ years in metal forming, experience with plate rolling and hydraulic presses, and familiarity with GD&T.

Qualifications

Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a metal forming technician.
Experience setting up plate rolling machines to form cylinders, cones, and other curved shapes of various metal thicknesses.
Extensive experience operating hydraulic press brakes for forming and bending.
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficient in using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, protractors, tape measures).

Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
Program/set-up/operate manual, semi-automated and CNC plate rollers, hydraulic presses, and shears.
Design/spec out and lead implementation of work holding and fixture methods.
Act as SME on rolling/forming/contouring fabrication of pressure vessels, alloys, or varying materials.
Troubleshoot issues and adjust during manufacturing.
Perform quality control during and at completion of manufacturing.
Lead organization, machine maintenance, and cleanliness of the work area.
Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to implement safety policies.
Mentor fabrication team on rolling, forming, contouring, safe handling, etc.
