Job summary

Anduril is seeking an experienced Metal Former/Machine Operator for its Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team in Santa Ana, CA. You will fabricate high-quality parts, build assemblies for production, and work hands-on with engineering on a multi-disciplinary workflow.

Responsibilities include interpreting CAD drawings, operating plate rollers and hydraulic brakes, leading fixtures, and mentoring staff while upholding safety and quality standards. Must lift 50 lbs and be eligible for a U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience as a metal forming technician.
• Set up and operate plate rolling machines to form cylinders, cones, and curved shapes.
• Operate hydraulic press brakes for forming and bending.
• Familiarity with various alloys and metals.
• Knowledge of GD&T and precision measuring tools.
• Own and complete manufacturing tasks from start to finish.
• Flex between R&D fabrication and production tasks.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and obtain/maintain U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD models.
• Program/set-up/operate manual, semi-automated and CNC plate rollers, hydraulic presses, and shears.
• Design and lead implementation of workholding and fixture methods.
• Act as SME on rolling/forming/contouring fabrication of vessels and alloys.
• Troubleshoot issues and adjust during manufacturing.
• Perform quality control during and after production.
• Lead organization, machine maintenance, and cleanliness of the work area.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering on safety policies.
• Mentor fabrication team on rolling, forming, and safe handling.
