Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Precast Concrete Inspector II to lead plant quality control for precast and prestressed production. The role also involves owner and agency plant inspection for DOT and structural programs, verifying prestressing operations and maintaining PCI/DOT records.

Responsibilities include reviewing mix designs and strength records, accepting/rejecting products, supervising Level I inspectors, and ensuring compliance with PCI MNL-116/117 and state DOT specs.

Qualifications

• PCI Level II QC certification current with 2+ years in a certified precast or prestressed plant.
• Working knowledge of PCI MNL-116/MNL-117 and state DOT precast specifications.
• ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician certification preferred.
• Able to hold production line to specification when schedule is tight.

Responsibilities

• Verify prestressing operations: strand certification, tensioning, detensioning, transfer strength.
• Review mix designs, batch tickets, and strength records.
• Accept or reject finished products against specs and shop drawings.
• Maintain plant QC records for PCI and DOT programs.
• Supervise Level I inspectors; assign daily coverage and review records.
• Investigate low breaks and adjust with the plant.
• Travel between plants on project basis with per diem as assigned.
