The Goddard School of South Loop in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to guide four- and five-year-olds toward confident, curious, and independent learning. You will create a joyful, structured classroom that supports readiness for Kindergarten.

You will lead a team of teachers, plan developmentally appropriate activities, and communicate regularly with families about each child’s growth and readiness for the next school year.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Preschool or Pre-K-aged children.
• Early Childhood Education coursework or degree preferred.
• Ability to meet Illinois DCFS Lead Teacher requirements.
• Knowledge of Kindergarten readiness expectations.
• Strong classroom management and positive guidance skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to observe, document and communicate children's developmental progress.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of an early childhood classroom.
• Commitment to maintaining all licensing, health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build warm relationships with children and families.
• Plan developmentally appropriate Pre-K learning experiences.
• Support literacy, math, science, writing and communication development.
• Lead and guide supporting teachers in classroom routines.
• Communicate regularly with families about growth and readiness.
• Maintain organized, welcoming classroom environment.
• Ensure children's safety with active supervision.
• Collaborate with leadership on transitions to Kindergarten.
