Job summary

Kids for the Future at the Henry Street Early Childhood Center in Lower East Side, NYC, seeks a Lead Teacher to create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating classroom for 2- to 5-year-olds. You will develop age-appropriate curricula, supervise staff, maintain records, and engage families.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, NYS certification, minimum 3 years' preschool experience, and knowledge of Creative Curriculum and NYS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education required; master's degree in early childhood education or active plan to obtain a master's preferred
• New York State Certification required (B-2 or N-6)
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with preschool children (2-5 years)
• Proficiency in planning appropriate Early Childhood classroom activities aligned with NYS standards and Developmentally Appropriate Practice
• Knowledge of Creative Curriculum and development of children's language, cognitive and social skills

Responsibilities

• Create age-appropriate curricula and lesson plans
• Supervise Assistant Teacher and Teacher’s Aide
• Maintain accurate progress reports and documentation
• Engage with families and conduct meetings and events
• Collaborate with team to plan and implement program development
