The NorDx Laboratory within MaineHealth is seeking a Lead Pre-Analytic professional. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, order entry, and specialty collections while ensuring quality and workflow efficiency. You’ll orient new team members and support problem resolution across patient settings.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and 1 year in phlebotomy/specimen management, with MLA experience preferred. Some sites may require travel.

Formación

• PBT/MLA from ASCP/AMT/NHA preferred; valid driver’s license required.
• One year of phlebotomy and specimen management experience required; one year as a Medical Laboratory Assistant preferred.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

• Lead pre-analytic duties including specimen collection, processing, and waiver testing.
• Serve as liaison in patient settings and monitor workflow efficiency.
• Orient new team members and support QA activities in the pre-analytic area.
• Handle order entry and specialty collections as part of daily duties.

Summary:
The Lead Pre-Analytic role represents the organization in all patient settings serving as a liaison and performs key pre-analytical functions, such as specimen collection phlebotomy, specimen processing, specialty testing, order entry, waived testing, quality control, and specialty collection. This role monitors work flow efficiency and assists to resolve concerns and serves in the primary role of orienting new team members.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High school diploma or GED required.
2. License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from the ASCP, AMT, or NHA preferred. Valid Driver's License required.
3. Experience: One year of experience in Phlebotomy and Specimen Management required. One year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant preferred.
4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: May be asked to work at other sites/locations as needed.

The pay range for this position is $20.68to $25.10 per hour.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
