Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Senior Protection & Studies Engineer to lead our power system protection practice. You will design, analyze, and implement protection schemes for substations and industrial facilities, coordinate relay settings, and mentor a growing team while influencing firm strategy.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years of experience, PE licensure, and strong ETAP/NEC knowledge. This is a high-impact, hands-on role with growth opportunities and a potential annual bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of job-related experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain by comity) in the hiring state.
• Advanced knowledge of Electrical Systems Analysis Software, ETAP preferred.
• Working knowledge of NEC and NESC.
• Proven experience with protective relay settings and coordination.
• Ability to prepare fee proposals and reports.
• Experience leading a team and coordinating with other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection studies and design for substations, distribution, and industrial facilities.
• Coordinate relay settings and review designs for code compliance.
• Act as technical authority and mentor other engineers.
• Develop and grow the protection practice and team.
• Collaborate across disciplines on strategic projects.
