Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus six (6) months to one (1) year of additional related technical training.
• Five (5) years in mechanical and boiler equipment maintenance, of which three (3) years should be as a mechanic or equivalent in specialized training in mechanical discipline.
• Must possess Machinist Certification (SECI Certified Machinist standards or equivalent).
• Knowledge of relevant safety procedures, regulations, and equipment for coal-fired electrical generating facilities.
• Good knowledge of mechanical principles, functions, and operations; ability to read blueprints/schematics.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Repairs and maintains plant equipment such as boiler, turbine, and associated equipment.
• Operates machine shop equipment for reconditioning and fabricating parts; sets up machines.
• Engages in oxy-acetylene welding, cutting, brazing, heat treating, plasma-cutting, and related work.
• Directs and trains personnel as assigned.
• Operates cranes and forklifts; reads blueprints and works from sketches.
