Job summary

Covanta is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform mechanical work supporting the power generation facility. The role includes maintenance on rotation machinery, boilers, cranes, piping, and structural components to keep operations running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have a GED/HS diploma or 5 years in power plant maintenance, with experience on boilers, generators, and conveyors; welding is a plus. The job involves physical tasks, heavy lifting, and shift work on a four 10-hour day schedule.

Qualifications

• GED/HS Diploma or 5 years' experience in power plant maintenance.
• Experience with boilers, generators, cranes, soot blowers, motors, turbines, condensers, and conveyors.
• Welding experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, PM's, and fabrication on plant equipment including conveyors and piping systems.
• Dismantle, overhauls, reassemble, and adjust turbines, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and auxiliaries.
• Inspect and lubricate equipment; perform rigging and welding as needed; conduct integrity tests.
