Job summary

Draper, an independent nonprofit R&D organization headquartered in Cambridge, MA, is seeking a Principal Power Electronics Engineer to design, test, and optimize precision analog/power electronics for diverse applications. The role requires 10+ years in the field, leadership across multidisciplinary teams, and the ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

The position is onsite in Cambridge, MA, with a base salary range reflecting role, level, and location, and options

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience with precision analog/power electronics.
• Ability to develop architectures and designs for complex electronics.

Responsibilities

• Designs new products and develops technical specifications for production.
• Analyzes hardware configuration and tests hardware conformance to specifications.
• Independently drives complex problems and adapts to changing requirements.
• Subject Matter Expert able to develop advanced architectures and designs.
• Supports business development activities including proposals and sponsor engagement.
• Identifies program and system risks and mitigates accordingly.
• Leads multi-disciplinary tasks and communicates status to leadership.
