Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, seeks a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to drive technology development and project execution in power conversion. The role blends deep technical leadership with business acumen to deliver innovative solutions and collaborations with labs and universities.

You will establish customer relationships, present ideas to ERL leadership, and guide teams through design, testing, and deployment while navigating internal processes and external opportunities.

Qualifications

  • PhD in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 0-2 years industrial or entrepreneurial experience.
  • Experience in designing power electronics for power conversion (motors, drives, converters).
  • Expertise in motor drive technology, drive/topologies, electric machines and controls, and electrification topics.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical lead or project lead in technology realization programs using internal processes (Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, Technical Reviews).
  • Coordinate activities to ensure timely milestone completion and assign roles within the project team.
  • Develop and track milestones for the entire project and support business relationships and funding efforts.
  • Contribute to technology strategy discussions and IP generation through disclosures and patents.
  • Assist in government proposals and/or owner of work packages during execution.
