Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Texas team. You will lead port and maritime structural design from concept through construction, focusing on piers, wharfs, bulkheads, and related structures, collaborating with local and national teams.

You will mentor project teams, manage budgets, and coordinate with clients, contractors, and sub-consultants. A PE license is required, with FE certification and a minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree with FE certification; PE license required.
• Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience (or 6 with master's).
• EPC project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI and ASCE-7; proficient in design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design for marine structures from concept to construction.
• Apply codes and industry standards to complex projects.
• Lead project teams and mentor junior staff.
• Develop cost proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, and construction teams.
• Ensure safety policies and quality reviews are followed.
