The position operates Monday through Friday, 6:30 am–3:00 pm, with weekend rotation.

Pennybyrn has an opportunity for an experienced Lead Porter (Assistant Manager) to join our innovative, inclusive, and compassionate life plan community!

Responsibilities Of This Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Environmental Services with the Housekeeping and Laundry team, and performing Porter duties within a designated board. The location served is our Independent Living neighborhood, which holds 175 apartments and 49 cottages (each up to 3 bedrooms). This includes community spaces like common areas, 3 restaurant venues on-site, event venue, wellness center, and more. Responsibilities include:

• Coordination of team's daily tasks, oversight of cleaning schedule, and timely response to Resident needs.
• Staff training, support, and guidance.
• Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure trash disposal.
• Ensure highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation, including hazardous waste disposal.
• Act as a liaison between Team and Director, Residents, and other departments.
• Provide expertise in flooring care with specialized floor machinery (buffers, extractors) to maintain various surfaces. Duties include routine floor maintenance by stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, and stain removal.
• Perform daily Porter tasks throughout the building, including soiled utilities management and set up/break down of events.
• Able to work Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, and rotate weekends.

The ideal candidate MUST haveprevious supervisory experience within a large janitorial team. Prior work experience should include hospitality or healthcare settings. Candidate must have strong communication skills and ability to motivate the team. Candidate must be able to provide excellence in service, professionalism, reliability, and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. Must be able to perform heavy lifting, move entire body, and stand/walk for long distances.

Pay rate

$20.00 per hour
