Job summary

The Bristal Assisted Living in Armonk, NY is seeking an experienced Porter to create and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our residents. You will help keep common areas, bathrooms, hallways and entryways pristine and welcoming.

The ideal candidate is reliable, friendly and able to work weekends; prior cleaning or hospitality experience is a plus, and English proficiency is required to communicate with residents and team members.

Qualifications

• Must be upbeat, friendly and courteous with residents, families, guests and staff.
• Reliable and thorough with cleaning practices in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in cleaning/housekeeping in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or similar industries is a plus.
• Prior work with seniors is preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and order in common areas (bathrooms, rooms, hallways, lobby, stairs, parking areas).
• Assist with snow removal and other occasional tasks as directed by supervisor.

As a luxury assisted living community, we operate much like a high-end hotel. And that means delivering the ultimate experience in guest services and hospitality every day and in every way. We are seeking an experienced, responsible and well-mannered Porter to create and maintain a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our residents throughout our community. You will be required to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of our busy common areas, including bathrooms, function rooms, stairways, hallways, the parking lot, sidewalks, windows, carpets, floors and all other public areas, as required. You will often come into contact with residents, resident families, other guests and team members, and we expect you to maintain a friendly, courteous and positive attitude at all times, so that these encounters are always pleasant and professional. In this role you will be cleaning assigned common areas of the community in accordance with the guidelines established by the Director of Housekeeping and will assist the Director when and where needed. Special cleaning projects and assistance with snow removal as necessary may be required. The loving care, attention to detail and great customer service you bring to your responsibilities as a Porter are fundamental to the quality of life and the general wellbeing of our residents every day.

Must be able to work at least one weekend day per week (Tues–Sat or Sun–Thurs).

The ideal candidate will have the following skills/qualifications:

• An upbeat, friendly, pleasant and courteous demeanor when dealing with peers, supervisors, guests, residents and management
• Must be consistent, reliable and thorough with all cleaning practices
• Must excel in providing cleaning services in a fast-paced environment
• Experience providing cleaning services in the restaurant, healthcare, hospital, hotel, hospitality or similar industry is a plus
• Prior experience working with a senior population is preferred
• Must be able to communicate in English
